Update with Pictures

It is Thursday and while I had a fantastic weekend, I have been an insomniac and been blugeoning my inner artist all week. I slept all day yesterday and worked into the evening and night. It was a productive few hours and I felt satisfied. Afterwards, I took a bath and began reading the third installment in the Kristin Lavransdatter triology, Korset, all by 11:30. With that, I was able to sleep and seem to be in a much better place this morning. I hope that this mood holds!

Ivan the Cat is recovering nicely. As you can see he is back to his sleepy self, as cats are want to be.

Joseph is nearly done. All I have left is clean-up work and his left hand to finish. He is out the door next Wednesday. In fact, I am anticiapting a contract from Italy on the fax machine any day now. Know any translators?

I sent a "take two" photo of the portrait I have been working on to the client for the Museum Figures Company. I think it turned out pretty well and I am waiting for a word from the client. So, good week, I suppose.

hallo! i found your blog thru gideon strauss' links and i really enjoy it!! Your sculptures are beautiful and i've been enjoying your conversations with Grace on Arrivals. It's really fascinating and quite encouraging to see that even very talented people have moments of doubt and fear! I'm spurred on to try again as i get easily discouraged with creating art.
Anyway, just wanted you to know that i think both blogs are really interesting and fun and i'm glad ivan is better! unfortunately, i'm a poor student and can't afford to help you out financially but i'm glad he's back to his old self! :D

Awesome face & hair on Joseph--I love it!

Don't you hate it when an employer makes you revise something, and instead of ruining the thing it actually does improve it?

Coryn- Thanks for your comments. Let me tell you that ALL artists, no matter how sucessful are terrified of making art. Sam recommened to me and I am recommending to you "The War of Art" or any of the books on the bookshelf on Arrivals! Good Luck.

Sam- Yeah, I do hate that! I was so mad at them for making those comments and it turns out that the piece is a thousand times better now. Rats!

I agree, this Joseph is very appealing. I like the fact though that he went through a phase of looking like your fiance.

Also, great cat photo!

Congrats. Joseph looks stunning. I wish I could see him in person, so I could feel the pathos of his presence. I'm always in awe of how a sculpture can make a hunk of inanimate mineral make my hair prickle and tears come to my eyes.
Anyway, my wonderful friend and classmate Dave Gonda did his two years of mission work in Italy, and he is still very fluent. I'm sure he would be delighted to translate whatever comes over the fax machine and return it to you by return e-mail. His address is gonda.11@osu.edu. Good luck!
