Eight Months

The top picture was taken in August, the bottom taken just the other day. Yes, it's the same kid.

Can you believe that Asha has been in our family for eight months now?I cannot believe how much she's grown. In addition to learning what it means to be a part of a family, she's had a lot of work to do to catch up to her peers. Eight months ago, she was wobbly even standing up. Since then she's learned to run, jump, stand on her head, climb stairs, and throw a ball. In fact, she throws a football in a way that would impress even her Uncle Buck. She has outstanding manual dexterity!

The top picture was taken in August, just after her arrival. The bottom picture, at the same slide, was taken this weekend. Can you believe the difference?

Developmentally, she's pretty much caught up to her peers, even if she's still a little immature emotionally. She is quite the talker now, using verbs to put together simple sentences such as "Mommy eating apple." She counts to five and sometimes we make it to ten. Plus, she's been sleeping in her big girl bed all this week. She even refers to it as "Asha's bed."

She's had a lot to overcome, physically and emotionally. She is now 24 pounds, 33.5 inches tall and wears a 6.5 shoe. Eight months ago she was only 15 pounds, 29 inches and her feet barely filled a size 3 shoe. She isn't on the growth chart yet, but is only a pound or two away!

Here are two pictures taken in the same place, then and now. You can even see the confidence in her face in the "Now" pictures compared to the tiny, scared girl in the pictures taken from August.

Now you have to post photos of your house, before and after. Clean, tidy...and later, overrun by a fiesty toddler. :)

Sarah, she is amazing! You are doing an excellent job with her. Learning all that and growing so much in a short time... wow! Keep up the good work!

Wow...what a beautiful little girl. It's amazing to see how much your kids have grown when you compare photos taken months apart. We just put up some new professional pics on the wall of Lily and Aidan and were amazed to see how much they've changed in a years' time. Tuesday will be Aidan's first "Gotcha Day" with us.
